The band is comprised of well-known musicians from the east coast that decided to dedicate a project to this American singer-songwriter legend. Each member of the group is a huge fan of James and the many incarnations of groups he has lead since the late 60’s till the present.

How the band came to be:

The members of the band would cross paths with each other as they played for artists like Stevie Wonder, Jazz Is Dead, The Simms Brothers, Bill Evans, Jamie Foxx, Alicia Keys, John Scofield, Roberta Flack, and various weddings and club dates.  During rehearsals one of them would play a riff from one of James Taylors songs.  It became a 10 year game of “name that JT tune.”  Dave finally started an email chain asking if we finally all want to get together to play the music that is close to our hearts, the music of James Taylor.  The idea immediately resonated with us and we began our rehearsal/feasts(see The Food tab.)

Thank you for reading and thank you James!!!

Kristine Livolsi - "The Seamstress for the Band"

Every Monday night at the Livolsi home Boxcar Jones gets together to work on music. Before they head down into "Man Cave Studios" there is a fabulous meal prepared by this incredible woman. The dinners that Kristine prepares have been so significant to this project that we've decided to dedicate a page on our website called "The Food". It is here where Kristine will share her stories and the recipes that have made these Monday sessions extra special.
